"Mackenzie Rosé"

Hand Picked Touriga Grapes

01
Organic

Made from Touriga grapes hand picked from a local vineyard in the Locksley region just south of Euroa. The vineyard is as “organic” as possible: not irrigated, nor any chemicals used. The 2024/25 summer produced excellent fruit, giving the wine increased fruit flavour and colour.

02
Finest Grapes

Touriga (Touriga Nacional) is a traditional grape of Portugal considered by many to be Portugal’s finest. The grape is traditionally used in the blends for ports however is increasingly now used for delicious table wines.

03
Fermentation

Our 2025 Rosé was fermented in Oak Barrel, rather than traditional Stainless Steel. Fermentation was over several weeks, purposely lengthened at low temperature (10oC) with intent to produce a Rosé wine with broader structure, more mouth fill creamy wine than a more traditional crisp style Provence Rosé.

04
Pairing and Tasting

The 2025 Rosé being made from Touriga Nacional grape, Portugal’s national grape, pairs especially well with mediterranean style dishes; try with an antipasto of smoked salmon or smoke trout, or a platter of tapas. This Rosé will be the perfect addition to your summer picnic.

"Ebonie"

Cabernet Franc/Sauvignon / Petit Verdot

01
Varietals

Our popular 2024 Ebonie was made from a 50/50 field blend of handpicked Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot grapes, in 2025 Ebonie was made with Cabernet Sauvignon / Petit Verdot grapes. This wine resulted from 300L of Free Run juice collected from the initial fermentation producing our delicate Ebonie wines.

02
Finest Grapes

The fruit was allowed to cold soak for 3 days at 10C prior to fermentation commencement. With the intent of producing a lower alcohol more delicate wine, fermentation was held to temperatures below 20C and fermented using CLOS yeast.

03
Fermentation

Fermentation continued over 3 weeks in stainless steel vats prior to pressing and transferring to oak barrels for secondary (Malo) fermentation. Malolactic fermentation finished after 4 weeks, with a final alcohol concentration of 12.9% achieved. Matured in oak for 12 months, Ebonie is a wine equally enjoyed chilled or at room temperature (15 – 20 C).

04
Pairing and Tasting

The Ebonie displays a sensitive characteristic, bright with subtle fruit flavours guaranteeing to be pleasing to all palates. Cabernet Franc/ Cabernet Sauvignon traditionally pair well with meats, however our wine is a 50% blend with Petit Verdot giving the Ebonie delightful upfront fruit flavours. As such the Ebonie pairs well to more subtle foods such as roast lamb, risottos or creamy cheeses.

"Hannah"

Cabernet Franc/Sauvignon / Petit Verdot

01
Varietals

The 2024 Hannah was made from a 50/50 field blend of handpicked Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot grapes, in 2025 we blended Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot grapes.. The wine is made by pressing the ferment post Free Run juice removal resulting in a bolder wine than the Ebonie.

02
Fruit

The fruit was allowed to cold soak for 3 days at 10C prior to fermentation commencement. The Hannah was made from the ‘Pressings’ of the blend of Cabernet Franc/Sauvignon  and Petit Verdot grapes. Increased skin contribution, and greater tannin  produces an elegant complex wine.

03
Fermentation

Fermentation continued over 3 weeks in stainless steel vats prior to pressing and transferring to oak barrels for secondary (Malo) fermentation. Malolactic fermentation finished after 4 weeks, with a final alcohol concentration of 12.9% achieved.

04
Pairing and Tasting

Hannah has a bolder upfront taste than the Ebonie. Vibrant and robust on first tasting, but well balanced, becoming a beautiful elegant wine across the palate. Complexity resulting from greater grape skin and stalk contribution. A great companion to traditional Italian pasta and parmesan meals. Enjoy with a “stinky” cheese.

The wine was stunning- what a powerhouse of a red!!!!!
